ABC cancels one of their hit television sitcoms on Tuesday, not long after the biggest star of the show decided to go on a racist twitter tirade, which they considered "a joke".

In little to no time, Roseanne Barr, star of the original television series "Roseanne", became the center of social media attention for not keeping her mouth shut. When referring to Valerie Jarrett, a former top adviser to President Barack Obama, who is African American, she tweeted a distasteful remark that gave reference to "The Planet of the Apes", which is totally uncool.

"Muslim brotherhood and Planet of the Apes had a baby=VJ" - @therealroseanne

She later deleted the tweet and tweeted again, making a vow to leave twitter. By then, it was too late. This left a bad taste in everyone's mouth, including her employer. ABC unhesitatingly cut all ties with Barr, which also lead to the cancellation of her show.

"Roseanne's Twitter statement is abhorrent, repugnant and inconsistent with our values, and we have decided to cancel her show." - Channing Dungey, ABC Entertainment President

Of course this, alongside her behavior, sent shock waves throughout the television industry. It's just so sad how with the comeback and premiere of "Roseanne", it brought huge ratings to the television network about three months ago. Can you believe they had already started pre-production of their second season and even released the schedule sequence of Tuesdays at 8 p.m. this fall? The network has already given the slot to a rerun of "The Middle".
