Death by apparent suicide.
Kate Brosnahan Spade, a well-known fashion designer from NYC was dead in her apartment on June 5th. According to TMZ, Spade, 55, left a suicide note near her dead body, found tied to a door knob with a red scarf by the housekeeper inside of her Manhattan apartment. The note held a message referenced to her daughter, Frances Beatrix, 13, which said:
"Bea - I have always loved you. This is not your fault. Ask Daddy!"
NYPD Chief of Detectives Dermot Shea said the police responded to the scene approximately 10:10 am.
Kate Spade New York was founded back in 1993, and spade was able to open her first storefront location three years later. Spade was known for bridging the gap between Main street and high fashion. The brand is known for its colorful handbags, with more than 140 retail shops and outlets across the country and more than 175 international locations.
What Spade's death did to the world today was remind then of their first ever Kate Spade handbag. Consumers and celebrities both used the social media platform to send their condolences to the family of the designer.
